With Ubuntu linux on my laptop, I don't need anything: Because the operating system has been so popular and is still in use 11 years after release, the biggest problem facing users is choosing to continue to run an outdated operating system or upgrade to a new OS, which could mean a steep learning curve and increased costs.
Yea, that's the reason I got rid of AVG.
I did not know Microsoft was ending support and that is personally bad news. Even administrators will do most of their work logged in as a regular user.

The user may be totally unaware that the download even took place. Almost any ligit source has pulled Windows XP from their stock as of Octerber 22nd, 2010.

I think there are probably millions of XP users who are still blissfully unaware of what April 8 portends.
